BMR Calculator
Enter your age, sex, height, and weight to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using a standard formula — the number of calories your body needs just to maintain basic functions at complete rest.
All calculations happen on your device — your health data is never sent to a server.
Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is estimated with the widely used Mifflin-St Jeor equation — an approximate, informational figure, not a medical diagnosis.

A practical example
Input
Details for an adult of average build.
Output
An estimate of the calories burned at complete rest over 24 hours.
Limitations
- The metabolic figure is for general information, and no nutrition plan should rest on it alone without a dietitian or doctor involved.
- The equation is a statistical estimate for an average person; actual metabolism is affected by muscle mass, hormones, genetics and health conditions, so reality can differ from the figure noticeably.
- The number represents complete rest only; for your actual daily requirement use the Daily Calorie Calculator, which adds an activity level.
- It is not suitable for children, pregnant people or anyone with a condition affecting metabolism.
Privacy and processing
Your weight, height and age stay on your device and are never sent to a server.
Technical notes
- The equation used is Mifflin–St Jeor, the one most relied on in current practice because it is more accurate than older equations for the general population.
