Reorder PDF Pages

See every page as a thumbnail and drag them into the order you need, then download the reorganized PDF. Useful for fixing scanned documents, reordering chapters, or preparing a file for printing — all done locally in your browser.

PDF Tools Runs entirely in your browser

Your file is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

One file at a time

What this tool does

Shows a PDF's pages as visual thumbnails so you can move each one into its new position and save the document in the order you arranged. You reorder by looking at the pages, not by typing numbers.

When to use it

  • A scanner produced the pages out of order.
  • Appendices need moving to the back, or an executive summary to the front.
  • You assembled a document from several sources and now need a sensible final order.
  • You do not know the page number you want, but you will recognise the page on sight.

How to use it

  1. Drag a PDF onto the drop area or choose it; its pages are read straight away to build the thumbnails — one file at a time.
  2. Wait while "Preparing page previews..." renders a thumbnail of every page.
  3. Move each page into its new position until the order is what you want.
  4. Click "Save new order and download".

A practical example

Input

A 5-page scan that came out as 1, 3, 2, 4, 5.

Output

A 5-page PDF in the correct 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 order, after moving the third thumbnail back one place.

Limitations

  • A single-page document is rejected with a message explaining there is nothing to reorder.
  • Saving without changing anything tells you the current order matches the original, rather than downloading a pointless copy.
  • Rendering thumbnails for a long document takes time and memory, because every page is genuinely drawn for the preview.
  • Maximum file size is 200 MB, a limit shared by every PDF tool here.

Privacy and processing

The file is read and rebuilt inside your browser. Previews are rendered on your device and never uploaded, and the document itself never leaves your machine.

Technical notes

  • Previews are rendered with pdf.js; the rebuild and save are done with pdf-lib.
  • Pages are copied rather than redrawn, so text stays text and quality is unaffected no matter how often you reorder.
