One file at a time
What this tool does
Builds a new PDF from pages you pick out of an existing one — either by clicking pages in the preview in the order you want them, or by typing numbers like "1,3,5-8". The order you choose is the order they come out in.
When to use it
- You need scattered, non-consecutive pages from a long document.
- You want the pages in a different order from the original — page 3 before page 1, say.
- You are assembling a digest from selected pages of a large report.
How to use it
- Drag a PDF onto the drop area or choose it.
- Click pages in the preview in the order you want them in the new file — or type the numbers into "Or type page numbers directly" and press apply.
- Click "Extract selected pages and download".
A practical example
Input
A 20-page document with 7,2,15 typed into the field.
Output
A 3-page PDF ordered 7, then 2, then 15 — not 2, 7, 15.
This is the real difference from the PDF Splitter: that keeps the original order, this respects the order you chose.
Limitations
- Repeating a page number does not add it twice; the first occurrence wins. To genuinely repeat a page, use the Duplicate PDF Pages tool.
- Numbers beyond the page count, or malformed input, are rejected with a message showing the expected format.
- Maximum file size is 200 MB.
Privacy and processing
Extraction happens inside your browser. Both the previews and the resulting file are generated on your device with no upload.
Technical notes
- The page-range parser is shared with the rotate and watermark tools, so input behaviour and error messages are identical across them.
- Pages are copied with pdf-lib without re-encoding.
