What this tool does
Converts between CSV and JSON in both directions. CSV is a table of rows and columns; JSON is an array of objects whose keys are the column names — that correspondence is what the conversion rests on.
When to use it
- Data exported from a spreadsheet that your code needs as JSON.
- A JSON response you want to open in a spreadsheet program.
- Moving data between a system that exports CSV and one that imports JSON.
- Inspecting tabular data in a structurally clearer form.
How to use it
- Choose the "Conversion direction": "CSV to JSON" or "JSON to CSV".
- Paste the data into the field, or use "Import a .csv file" or "Import a .json file".
- Click "Convert" and copy the result.
A practical example
Input
name,city then Ahmad,Amman, converting CSV to JSON.
Output
An array containing one object with keys name and city holding Ahmad and Amman.
Limitations
- The first CSV row is always treated as the column names.
- JSON to CSV needs an array of flat objects; nested objects have no equivalent in a flat table.
- Every CSV value is text by the format's nature, so numbers and booleans may need converting at their destination.
- Commas and quotes inside values must be correctly formatted in the source file.

Technical notes
- The CSV parser respects quoted values and the commas inside them, rather than splitting naively on every comma.
