JSON to Excel Converter
Paste a JSON array of simple objects and get a real .xlsx workbook back, with a column for every field found across all the objects. Nested objects or arrays inside a field are flagged clearly instead of silently flattened.
The data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to any server.
The data must be an array of plain objects (no nested fields). If any field contains a nested object or array, a clear message appears instead of a conversion that could lose data.
What this tool does
Converts a JSON array of flat objects into an Excel file, with each key becoming a column and each object a row.
When to use it
- An API response you want to analyse in a spreadsheet.
- Data a system exported as JSON that a non-technical colleague needs in Excel.
- Preparing a report from programmatic data for someone who prefers spreadsheets.
How to use it
- Paste the data into the "JSON data (an array of flat objects)" field, or use "Import a .json file".
- Click "Convert to Excel and download".
A practical example
Input
An array of two objects with name and age keys.
Output
An .xlsx with name and age columns and two rows of values.
Limitations
- The input must be an array of flat objects; nested objects have no equivalent in a flat table.
- Text that is not valid JSON is rejected with a message asking you to check the brackets and commas.
- Objects with differing keys produce empty cells where a key is absent.
- The output is a table of values with no formatting.
Privacy and processing
The JSON you paste becomes a workbook on your device, with nothing sent to a server.
Technical notes
- Column names are collected from every object's keys, so a key present in only some of them is not lost.
