Base64 to Image Converter
Paste a Base64 string or a full data:image/...;base64, URL and preview the decoded image with its dimensions, then download it as a file — decoding happens locally, nothing is uploaded.
Developer Tools Runs entirely in your browser
The text is processed and converted to an image entirely on your device, without ever being sent to a server.
What this tool does
Turns a Base64 string or Data URL back into a viewable, downloadable image and reports its dimensions.
When to use it
- Inspecting an image embedded in a config file or an API response.
- Extracting an image from a template or document that carries it encoded.
- Confirming an encoded string really is a valid image.
How to use it
- Paste the Base64 string or Data URL into the field.
- Click "Convert to image".
- Read the dimensions shown, then click "Download image".
A practical example
Input
A Data URL taken out of a stylesheet.
Output
The image displayed with its pixel dimensions, and a button to save it as a file.
Limitations
- A truncated or malformed string is rejected with a clear message rather than showing a broken image.
- A string without a Data URL prefix may need its image type known to display correctly.
- Very large strings can slow the browser down, since they are handled in memory.
Privacy and processing
The conversion happens entirely on your device and the data is never sent to any server.
Technical notes
- The data is validated before display, so you find out immediately whether the string is a valid image or just text.
