Boomerang Video Loop Maker

The Boomerang Video Loop Maker turns a short video clip into a continuously looping clip that plays forward then automatically reverses (the same style as Instagram's popular Boomerang feature), by combining the original clip with a reversed copy of itself. Audio is removed from the output, since playing reversed audio right after the original sounds jarring — every well-known boomerang tool does the same. All processing happens in your browser via FFmpeg.wasm — no video is ever uploaded to a server.

Video Tools Runs entirely in your browser

Your video is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

Only use this tool with files you own or have the right to process.

For browser memory reasons, this tool only supports clips up to 15 seconds long.

Audio is removed from the output (as every boomerang tool does), since reversed audio playing back-to-back with the original sounds jarring.

What this tool does

Makes a clip that plays forwards then immediately backwards, so it reads as a seamless loop with no obvious start or end.

When to use it

  • A short clip for a social post that should be eye-catching and repeating.
  • A simple motion that is satisfying to watch back and forth.
  • A product animation showing one short continuous movement.

How to use it

  1. Put a short video on the drop area or choose it.
  2. Run the creation and wait for processing.
  3. Download the result.

A practical example

Input

A two-second clip of someone waving.

Output

A roughly four-second clip: the wave forwards then immediately in reverse, seamless when repeated.

Limitations

  • The output is about twice the length of the input.
  • Long clips do not suit the effect and produce a large file for no visual gain.
  • The reversed audio in the second half sounds strange; this effect is for silent clips or ones that will be watched muted.

Privacy and processing

The forward and reversed halves are both produced on your device, with nothing uploaded.

Technical notes

  • A reversed copy is generated and appended to the original, which makes it heavier than a simple trim or convert.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because playing reversed audio right after the original sounds jarring and unpleasant — every well-known boomerang tool, including Instagram's, removes audio from the output for exactly this reason.
