Video Voiceover Recorder
The Video Voiceover Recorder plays your video automatically while recording your voice from the microphone at the same time, giving you a voiceover perfectly synced to the video's own events — no separate editing software needed. Unlike Add Audio to Video, which requires an audio file you already have ready, this tool records your voice live as you watch. Once recording finishes, the new audio is automatically merged into the video in your browser — no file is ever uploaded to a server.
Your video is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
Only use this tool with files you own or have the right to process.

What this tool does
Records narration from your microphone while the video plays, then merges the recording into the clip — so your words line up with what was on screen as you said them.
When to use it
- A screen recording you want to explain in your own voice afterwards.
- A recorded presentation that needs your commentary added.
- A silent clip whose events you want narrated.
- Reviewing a recording and commenting on it as it goes.
How to use it
- Put a video on the drop area or choose it.
- Click "Enable microphone" and grant the browser's permission.
- Click "Start recording voiceover"; the video plays while you speak over it.
- Stop when you are finished and wait for the voiceover to be merged in.
- Click "Download video".
A practical example
Input
A three-minute screen recording, narrated while watching it back.
Output
The same clip with your narration synchronised to whatever was on screen at the moment you said it.
Limitations
- The recording is one continuous session; you cannot record part of it and continue later.
- Re-recording starts again from the beginning of the clip.
- It needs microphone permission.
- Narration quality is bounded by your microphone and your surroundings.
Privacy and processing
The video and your recording both stay on your device; recording and merging happen in the browser with nothing uploaded.
Technical notes
- The synchronisation works because recording starts with playback, so each word's position in the narration matches its position in the clip.
Frequently Asked Questions
The original audio is completely replaced by the new voiceover you record. If you want to mix both together instead, download your voiceover separately first and use the Add Audio to Video tool.
