Screen Recorder
Start recording your screen (or a specific tab or window) with one click, using your browser's own screen-capture permission — the recording is saved and downloaded locally, never uploaded to a server.
The recording happens entirely in your browser; no video is uploaded to any server — the recording stays on your device until you choose to download it.
Screen recording relies on a browser API currently available on desktop computers (Chrome, Edge, and Firefox), not mobile browsers.
Your browser or device doesn't currently support screen recording. Try a computer using Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
What this tool does
Records your screen, a window or a tab directly from the browser, and gives you the file to download when you stop.
When to use it
- Explaining steps in a program or site to a colleague or client.
- Documenting a bug to report to a support team.
- Recording a presentation or a meeting on your screen.
- Producing a short piece of training material.
How to use it
- Press start; the browser asks you to pick the screen, window or tab to record.
- Do whatever you are recording.
- Press stop.
- Download the recording.
A practical example
Input
A three-minute session explaining a site's settings, with just the browser window selected.
Output
A video showing only that window for the full three minutes.
Limitations
- It needs a browser that supports screen capture, and tells you explicitly if yours does not.
- The browser asks your permission every time — a browser security rule, not a limitation of this tool.
- A long recording produces a large file bounded by your device's memory.
- Capturing system audio is not supported on every browser and operating system.
Privacy and processing
The recording happens entirely inside your browser and no video or audio is uploaded to any server — what you record stays on your device until you decide to share it.
Technical notes
- Recording uses the browser's built-in screen-capture interface, so nothing needs installing.
