What this tool does
Removes the audio track from a video completely, leaving the same picture with no sound at all.
When to use it
- A recording contains speech or background noise you do not want to publish.
- A clip you will add music or new narration to later.
- A video that will play in a public space or inside a presentation without sound.
- You want a slightly smaller file by dropping a track you do not need.
How to use it
- Put a video on the drop area or choose it.
- Click "Remove audio" and wait for processing.
- Click "Download video".
A practical example
Input
A screen recording with unwanted ambient noise.
Output
The same recording with its picture intact and no audio track at all.
Limitations
- The removal is total; muting only part of the duration is not offered.
- There is no option to lower the volume instead of removing it; for that, extract the audio and use the audio volume tool.
- The audio cannot be recovered from the output file, so keep the original.
Privacy and processing
Processing happens inside your browser and the video is never uploaded.
Technical notes
- The audio track is dropped as the file is rebuilt through FFmpeg.wasm locally.
