Video Converter

Convert a video file from one format to another — for example turning a MOV from an iPhone into an MP4 that plays everywhere. Conversion runs locally in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.

Video Tools Runs entirely in your browser

Your video is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

Only use this tool with files you own or have the right to process.

Drag videos here or choose them

You can select more than one file (MP4, WebM, MOV, or MKV)

What this tool does

Converts video between common formats by re-encoding it into the format you choose. Several files can be converted at once.

When to use it

  • A file is in a format a particular device or program will not play.
  • A platform accepts only one specific format on upload.
  • You want a more widely compatible format to share with people on different devices.

How to use it

  1. Put your video files on the drop area or choose them.
  2. Choose the "Target format"; the same format applies to every selected video.
  3. Wait for processing, then download the results individually or with "Download all as ZIP".

A practical example

Input

Three MOV files from a camera, converted to MP4.

Output

Three MP4 files with the same content, playable on a wider range of devices.

Limitations

  • This is a re-encode rather than a remux, so it is lossy and takes time proportional to the clip's length.
  • Converting to WebM is usually slower than to MP4, and the tool warns you before you start.
  • Going from one compressed format to another adds fresh loss on top of the original.
  • The file limit is 1 GB.

Privacy and processing

Every file is processed inside your browser and none is uploaded to our servers.

Technical notes

  • Conversion runs through FFmpeg.wasm inside a web worker — the same engine behind every video tool here.
