What this tool does
Cleans common mess out of text with options you enable: normalising line breaks, trimming spaces at the ends of lines, collapsing repeated spaces, collapsing extra blank lines, and removing duplicate lines.
When to use it
- Text copied from a website or a PDF that arrived with chaotic spacing.
- A list containing duplicate lines you want removed.
- Text from different sources with mixed line-break conventions.
- Preparing text before importing it into another system.
How to use it
- Paste the text into the "Text to clean" field.
- Enable the "Cleaning options" you want.
- Click "Clean text" and copy the "Result".
A practical example
Input
Text copied from a PDF with double spaces and consecutive blank lines.
Output
The same text with single spaces between words and one blank line between paragraphs.
Limitations
- The cleaning is purely textual and corrects neither spelling nor grammar.
- If your options strip everything, you get a message saying the text is empty after cleaning.
- Removing duplicate lines keeps the first occurrence of each and drops the rest.
- Meaningful whitespace — such as indentation in code — can be affected, so take care when cleaning source code.

Technical notes
- The options are independent of each other, so you can apply one without the rest rather than an all-or-nothing clean.
