Sort Lines
Paste a list — one item per line — and sort it alphabetically (A-Z or Z-A), numerically, by length, or reverse the current order, with an option to remove duplicate lines at the same time.

What this tool does
Sorts a text's lines ascending or descending, with a numeric sort option and an option for correct Arabic collation.
When to use it
- A list of names or terms you want alphabetised.
- A list of numbers you want ordered by value rather than as text.
- An Arabic list that ordinary tools do not order correctly.
- Preparing a sorted list for publication or comparison.
How to use it
- Paste the lines into the field.
- Choose the "Sort direction": ascending or descending.
- Enable "Numeric sort" for numbers, or "Correct Arabic collation" for Arabic text.
- Copy the "Result".
A practical example
Input
The numbers 10, 9 and 100 with numeric sort ascending.
Output
9, then 10, then 100 — whereas a plain text sort would have given 10, 100, 9.
That is exactly why the numeric option exists: a text sort compares character by character and puts 100 before 9.
Limitations
- Correct Arabic collation orders by the actual alphabet rather than by character codes, and is a separate option because it is not always what you want.
- Blank lines are treated as lines; clean the text first if you do not want them.
- Numeric sorting on a line that is not a number gives an unexpected result.
Privacy and processing
The lines are sorted on your device and are never sent to a server.
Technical notes
- The Arabic option uses a language-aware comparison rather than comparing character values, which would order letters by their encoding rather than their alphabet.
