What this tool does
Pulls every number out of a text, with an option to convert them all to Western digits.
When to use it
- Text with scattered figures you want collected for calculation.
- An invoice or report whose numbers you want extracted.
- Data written out in prose that you want as a list of numbers.
- Text mixing Eastern and Western digits that you want normalised.
How to use it
- Paste the text into the field.
- Enable "Convert all numbers to Western digits" if you need them normalised.
- Copy the extracted numbers.
A practical example
Input
A sentence containing a price, a count and a percentage.
Output
A list of just those three numbers.
Limitations
- It extracts numbers without understanding them: a phone number, a price and a year are all just numbers to it.
- Numbers with decimal or thousands separators are extracted in the form they appear.
- It does not distinguish a number in a sentence from one inside a link or an identifier.
Privacy and processing
The extraction runs on your device and your text is never sent to a server.
Technical notes
- The convert-to-Western option is useful specifically before passing the output to a calculation tool, since most systems do not read Eastern digits as numeric.
