PWA Manifest & Icon Generator
The PWA Manifest & Icon Generator tool creates a complete manifest.json (name, colors, and icons list) along with a full set of PNG icons at standard sizes, plus "maskable" icons with safe-zone padding so OS icon masks don't clip them, and a separate Apple Touch icon with a non-transparent background — all packaged into one ready-to-use ZIP file for your Progressive Web App (PWA). This tool partially overlaps with the Favicon Generator, but adds what that tool doesn't produce: a complete manifest.json and properly safe-zone-padded maskable icons. Runs entirely in your browser — the image you upload is never sent to a server.

What this tool does
Generates a progressive web app manifest together with the icon set it needs, from an app name, its colours and a single logo image.
When to use it
- You are making your site installable as an app on a phone.
- You need icons at the sizes and in the styles mobile systems ask for.
- You want a correctly structured manifest without hand-writing it.
How to use it
- Fill in the app name and the short name.
- Choose the theme colour and the background colour.
- Put your logo on the drop area.
- Review the icon previews: the standard, maskable and Apple variants.
- Download the ZIP containing the manifest and the icons.
A practical example
Input
An app name, a short name, two colours and a square logo.
Output
A ZIP with a ready manifest and an icon set at the required sizes and styles, including a maskable variant that renders correctly inside the different icon shapes systems use.
Limitations
- This produces the files; linking them to your site — uploading them and referencing them from your pages — is still yours to do.
- The maskable icon assumes the logo tolerates having its edges cropped; a logo that runs to the edge may lose part of itself on some systems.
- Installability depends on other conditions in the site itself that this tool does not address.
Privacy and processing
The logo is processed on your device through the canvas and is never uploaded, and the manifest is built locally from the values you type.
Technical notes
- The maskable icon is generated with a safe margin around the logo, because mobile systems crop icons to different shapes — a circle on one, a rounded square on another.
