What this tool does
Crops part of an image by selecting the area visually, with the option to constrain the crop to a fixed aspect ratio and choose the output format.
When to use it
- You want to focus on part of a picture and remove what surrounds it.
- You need a specific aspect ratio a platform requires — square or wide, say.
- You are cutting a portrait out of a wider shot.
- You want unwanted elements removed from the edges of a photo.
How to use it
- Drag an image onto the drop area or choose one — a single JPG, PNG or WebP at a time.
- Pick a "Crop ratio" if you need a fixed one, or leave it free.
- Select the crop area on the image.
- Choose the output format, then click "Download cropped image".
A practical example
Input
A 1920×1080 landscape photo with a 1:1 square crop ratio.
Output
A square image containing only the area you selected, with equal width and height.
Limitations
- One image at a time; there is no batch crop at identical coordinates.
- Cropping removes those pixels from the result permanently — keep the original if you might want the discarded area back.
- Output quality is bounded by the source: cropping a small region out of a low-resolution photo gives a small, unclear image.
Privacy and processing
Cropping happens inside your browser and the image is never uploaded.
Technical notes
- The crop is performed by drawing the selected region onto a new canvas at its own dimensions and encoding that in the chosen format.
