Extract Video Frames
Choose how many frames to extract, and get that many still images pulled evenly across the video's duration, downloadable individually or as a batch — useful for thumbnails or storyboards. Processed entirely in your browser.
Your video is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
Only use this tool with files you own or have the right to process.

What this tool does
Pulls still images out of a video — as many frames as you ask for, spread across the clip's length — and gives them to you in a ZIP.
When to use it
- You need a thumbnail that represents a clip.
- You are looking for a particular moment inside a long recording.
- You are producing illustrations from a screen recording for an article or documentation.
- You are analysing fast motion frame by frame.
How to use it
- Put a video on the drop area or choose it.
- Set the "Number of frames to extract".
- Click "Extract frames", then "Download all (ZIP)".
A practical example
Input
A two-minute clip with 12 frames requested.
Output
A ZIP of 12 images spread across the clip at roughly even intervals.
Limitations
- Frames are distributed across the clip's length; a specific timestamp cannot be requested.
- Asking for a very large number of frames produces a large archive and takes a long time.
- Image quality is bounded by the video's resolution, and fast-moving scenes produce blurry frames.
Privacy and processing
Extraction happens inside your browser and neither the video nor any frame is uploaded.
Technical notes
- Frames are extracted locally through FFmpeg.wasm and bundled into a ZIP on your device.
