What this tool does
From a list of numbers it reports the mean, the median, the minimum, the maximum, the count and the sum — all at once.
When to use it
- Averaging scores or ratings.
- Summarising a set of readings or measurements.
- Comparing the mean against the median to see whether outliers are dragging the average.
- Totalling a list of numbers and seeing its range quickly.
How to use it
- Paste the numbers into the field, separated by commas, spaces or new lines.
- Read the six results: mean, median, minimum, maximum, count and sum.
A practical example
Input
10, 20, 30, 40
Output
Mean 25, median 25, minimum 10, maximum 40, count 4, sum 100.
Always compare the mean with the median: for 10, 20, 30, 400 the mean is 115 and the median 25 — and a gap that large is a signal that an outlier is distorting the average.
Limitations
- Non-numeric values are ignored, and if no valid number is found you get a clear message.
- It does not compute standard deviation or the mode.
- Decimals are read with a point separator.

Technical notes
- The median is found by sorting the values and taking the middle one, or the average of the two middle ones for an even count.
