Scientific Calculator
Perform calculations with trigonometric functions, logarithms, exponents, roots, and standard arithmetic in one calculator — expressions are evaluated with a safe parser, never JavaScript's eval().
All calculations happen on your device — no expression is ever sent to a server.
This calculator uses a safe expression parser built specifically for this purpose, and never uses eval or direct code execution.
What this tool does
Evaluates mathematical expressions you type, including trigonometric functions, logarithms, powers and roots, respecting operator precedence.
When to use it
- Evaluating an expression with several operations and brackets.
- Needing a trigonometric or logarithmic function for a quick calculation.
- Checking a calculation you did by hand.
- Doing some maths without opening a separate application.
How to use it
- Type the expression into the field.
- Press equals.
- Read the result, and clear to start again.
A practical example
Input
An expression with multiplication, addition and brackets such as (2 + 3) * 4
Output
20 — the brackets are evaluated first, rather than giving 2 + 12.
Limitations
- An invalid expression is rejected with a message rather than producing a wrong answer.
- Trigonometric functions work in a specific angle unit; mind it when working in degrees.
- Numeric precision is bounded by the browser's floating-point arithmetic, so very long calculations can show a rounding difference in the last digit.
Privacy and processing
All calculations happen on your device and no expression is ever sent to a server.
Technical notes
- The expression is parsed and evaluated by a mathematical parser rather than by executing the text as code — a substantive security difference in any calculator that accepts typed input.
