Audio Pitch Changer

Shift an audio clip's pitch up or down by semitones while keeping its playback speed unchanged, then download the result — processed entirely in your browser.

Audio Tools Runs entirely in your browser

Your audio file is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

Only use this tool with files you own or have the right to process.

Unlike the video speed changer, this tool only changes the pitch without affecting the clip's duration or speed.

What this tool does

Shifts an audio file's pitch up or down without changing its playback speed, so the duration stays exactly the same.

When to use it

  • A vocal recording you want moved to a key that suits your voice.
  • Trying a music clip at a higher or lower pitch.
  • Changing the tone of a voice in a recording for a creative purpose.

How to use it

  1. Put an audio file on the drop area or choose it.
  2. Set the pitch ratio.
  3. Click apply, then download the file.

A practical example

Input

A vocal clip shifted up by two steps.

Output

The same clip at a higher pitch with its duration completely unchanged.

Limitations

  • Large pitch shifts introduce audible artefacts and make the sound unnatural.
  • Human voices are more sensitive to pitch shifting than instruments are.
  • The difference from the Audio Speed Changer: that one changes duration and preserves pitch, this one preserves duration and changes pitch.

Privacy and processing

The pitch shift is computed locally in your browser and the file is never uploaded.

Technical notes

  • Shifting pitch while holding duration requires resampling followed by a tempo correction, which is why the result gets less clean the larger the shift.
