Voice Recorder
The Voice Recorder lets you record from your device's microphone right in your browser, with a live level meter while you record, pause/resume support, and an elapsed-time counter. When you're done, listen back to the recording, then download it in its original format (WebM) or converted to WAV. All recording and processing happens in your browser — no audio is ever uploaded to a server.
The recording happens entirely in your browser; no audio is uploaded to any server.
Your browser or device doesn't currently support microphone access.
What this tool does
Records your voice through the microphone in the browser, with pause and resume, and downloads the recording in its native format or as WAV.

- Testing your microphone before an important meeting or recording.
- Recording an interview or a lecture on your device.
How to use it

- Click "Start recording"; you can "Pause" and "Resume" at any point.
- Click "Stop recording" when you are done.
- Use "Download original recording" or "Download as WAV".
A practical example
Input
A three-minute note recorded with a pause partway through.
Output
One continuous audio file that does not contain the paused interval.
Limitations
- It needs microphone permission; declining prevents recording and you get a message explaining it.
- Recording quality is bounded by your device's microphone and surroundings.
- The native format depends on the browser, which is exactly why a WAV option exists.
- A long recording is bounded by your device's memory.
Privacy and processing
The recording happens entirely in your browser and no audio is uploaded to any server.
Technical notes
- The WAV option exists specifically because the native format browsers produce differs between them and is not accepted by every editing program.
