What this tool does
Rotates a video in right-angle steps or flips it horizontally or vertically, so it plays the right way round.
When to use it
- A phone clip plays upside down or sideways on another device.
- A front-camera recording is mirrored, so text in it reads backwards.
- You are normalising the orientation of clips you will merge.
How to use it
- Put a video on the drop area or choose it.
- Choose the "Rotation", or turn on "Flip horizontal" or "Flip vertical".
- Click "Apply", then "Download video".
A practical example
Input
A clip shot vertically that plays sideways on a computer.
Output
The same clip rotated 90°, playing correctly on every device.
Limitations
- Rotation is in right angles only, with no free angles.
- Rotating 90° or 270° swaps width and height, so the output's aspect ratio changes.
- The operation requires a full re-encode, so it is not instant the way changing an orientation flag in the file's metadata would be.
Privacy and processing
The re-encode runs on your device, and the video is never uploaded.
Technical notes
- The orientation is baked into the picture during re-encoding, so the result is correct even in players that ignore the file's orientation flag.
