Convert PDF and EPUB
Works in both directions: from PDF to EPUB, your pages are analyzed (font size and spacing) to infer headings, paragraphs, and lists, producing a real, genuinely reflowable EPUB e-book readable on any e-reader. From EPUB to PDF, your book's chapters are read in their correct order and combined into one paginated PDF document. Works best on clearly formatted files, and relies on the PDF's actual text layer (not OCR) — entirely in your browser, with nothing ever uploaded to a server.
Your file is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

One file at a time
Headings, paragraphs, and lists are inferred from font size and spacing rather than real document structure — it works best on clearly formatted files.
What this tool does
Converts a PDF into an .epub ebook with one chapter per page, inferring headings, paragraphs and lists from the page's visual structure in the same way as the PDF to Word tool.
When to use it
- You want to read a document on an e-reader with text that adapts to the screen.
- A PDF is uncomfortable to read on a phone because its page layout is fixed.
- You are preparing long-form reading material in a format that supports font resizing and night mode.
How to use it
- Put a PDF on the drop area or choose it.
- Enter the book title you want recorded in the file's metadata.
- Run the conversion and download the .epub.
A practical example
Input
A 30-page PDF handbook, titled "User Guide".
Output
An .epub with 30 chapters and a navigation index, which opens in e-readers and reflows its text to the screen.
Limitations
- The split is one chapter per page, which is a technical division and will not match the book's real chapters.
- Reflow depends on structure inferred from the page, so the result is genuinely usable rather than perfectly typeset.
- Images, tables and complex layouts are not carried across as equivalent EPUB constructs.
- A scanned PDF produces an empty book, since there is no text to reflow in the first place.
Privacy and processing
The PDF is read and the ebook assembled on your device; neither the document's text nor the title you enter is sent anywhere.
Technical notes
- A complete EPUB3 container is hand-built — including the navigation document and a legacy table of contents for older readers — with no new dependency added.
- The structure inference is shared with the PDF to Word and PDF to Markdown tools.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — the output is real text (genuine headings, paragraphs, and lists) that an e-reader reflows to fit its own screen size and font, not a fixed image of the page.
