Currency Converter
Convert an amount between currencies using exchange rates that are updated periodically. These rates are for general reference — they are not live trading quotes and shouldn't be used for time-sensitive financial transactions.
Exchange rates are provided by exchangerate-api.com and update roughly once every 24 hours — they're approximate, not live market rates, and shouldn't be used for actual trading.

- Estimating the cost of a purchase or a trip in another currency.
- Converting a price quoted in a foreign currency.

How to use it
- Choose the source and target currencies.
- Enter the amount.
- Read the converted figure.
A practical example
Input
An amount in US dollars converted to Jordanian dinars.
Output
The equivalent amount at the rate in use at the time of conversion.
Limitations
- The rates shown are indicative reference rates, not the rate a bank or exchange will actually give you — they add margins and fees that vary between them.
- This tool needs an internet connection to fetch rates, unlike the other calculators here which run entirely locally.
- Rates change continuously; the conversion when you read it may differ from when you act on it.
- Pegged currencies stay stable, while others can move considerably within a single day.
Privacy and processing
The amount you enter is computed on your device; what is fetched from the network is the rate table only — not your amount and not your choice of currencies.
Technical notes
- The conversion happens locally once the rate table is fetched, so changing the amount does not trigger a new request.
Frequently Asked Questions
No — rates are updated periodically, not in real time, so they should be treated as a general reference rather than a live trading quote.
