Password Strength Checker
Type a password to see its estimated strength based on length, character variety, entropy, and pattern checks (common passwords, sequential runs, repeated characters) — with concrete issues listed so you know exactly what to fix. The password is never sent anywhere; every check runs locally.
The password you type is never sent to any server or external service — all analysis happens inside your browser only.

What this tool does
Analyses a password's strength and shows what weakens it, using purely local arithmetic on the string itself.
When to use it
- Finding out whether a password you already use is genuinely strong.
- Checking a password you invented before committing to it.
- Showing someone why their password is weak with evidence rather than opinion.
- Comparing two candidate passwords.
How to use it
- Type the password into the field; you can show or hide it.
- Read the rating and what it says about the weaknesses.
A practical example
Input
A short password built on a common word with a digit on the end.
Output
A low rating noting that it is short and follows a predictable pattern — the pattern password-cracking tools try first.
Limitations
- The rating is an estimate based on length, variety and patterns, not a definitive verdict on how crackable a password really is.
- It does not check whether the password has appeared in a known breach — that would require querying an outside service, which this tool deliberately does not do.
- A highly rated password is still unsafe if it is reused across sites.
Privacy and processing
The password never leaves your device: it is not sent to us or to any breach-checking service, and every check is arithmetic on the string inside your browser.
Technical notes
- Omitting a breach check is a deliberate privacy decision: performing one means sending the password or part of it to a third party, which does not belong in a tool for examining passwords.
